After over a year and a half, I thought it was time to update the
about us page on Robinswrong.com
Who are you and why did you start Robinswrong.com? Questions and
Answers:
Originally "who" was myself (robinswrong) and some friends that I presented the
idea of Robinswrong.com to. They thought it was a good idea, so in
February of 2006 I launched this site. Since then, I've heard from
thousands of listeners. Some to send praise, others to explain in
great detail how much how you despise me. Others have become
regular contributors to this site and for that I am grateful.
Who do you hear from on a daily basis?
I receive email from Stern fans around the world twenty-four hours a
day. With the show being replayed and time-shifting with the
Stiletto, I am always getting word of a mistake made by Robin. I've done six interviews with Howard 100 News this year and still hear
from people on a daily basis that have just found out about the site. I'm
contacted by people (email and IM) that hear Robin screw up and I hear from a lot people
that can't get thru to the show and just want to vent.
How many people work on this site?
One. Well, as in editing and deciding what goes up, just one
person. When you see a post that ends in a name other than
"-robinswrong" it has been submitted by email. This site is driven by
the fans. Like I told Steve Langford in an interview, there are a lot of
things I don't know much about, so I have to depend on people to email me
when Robin screws up.
You started this site only to make money!
Most of what I do in life is to try and make money, but this site
is not one of them. I never had the idea to sell banner ads. I had
people ask to buy them. I don't sell t-shirts, coffee mugs or doormats. In
the year and a half the site has been up, I've barely made enough to
cover the hosting and registration costs. I guess that makes
Robinswrong.com a nonprofit organization.
Robin has always been annoying with the constant interruptions,
restating what someone else just said, the abrasive laugh, finishing
other's sentences and acting as if she knows everything. When Howard
was on testicle radio she was aggravating, but tolerable so why start
the site now?
I agree, but since the switch the Sirius she has become totally out
of control and thus the impetus for starting Robinswrong.com.
Since the move to Sirius, Robin's obnoxious traits have increased a
thousandfold. For some reason she thinks that it is now the Robin and
Howard Show. If she had never been on the show, Stern would
have been a success. If she left tomorrow, the show would be a success;
probably even more than it is now. Do you not agree?
I have no idea how the show would have turned out had Robin left
years ago, but I think most agree that with Howard being the creative
force that he is, the show would have certainly survived. I know
it would have been hard for him to continue without being constantly
interrupted and the non-stop cackling, but I think he would have been
able to still make it. /sarcasm off
Do you get a lot of traffic?
I've seen over 2,000 people online at a time after Howard mentioned
the site on the air. In 2006 when nobody knew about us we had a total of
17,000 visits. Most of those thanks to
KOAM. In 2007, we are on pace for 1.2 million visits.
What is the goal of Robinswrong.com?
Honestly, I thought if Robin knew how many times she was wrong and
how much she interrupted maybe she would stop ruining the show. So, while
I doubt that Robin would ever grant millions of Stern
listeners' dreams by leaving the show, I thought to document all the
stupid things she says and does. -Robinswrong |
